BROADCASTING AND TV SINCE 1900

This is an old book written in 1952 by the first Chief Engineer of the BBC, Maurice Gorham.

Full of details on the development of television at the BBC written in the twilight of his career he retains his excitement at the possibilities of television for the future.

Imagine how much better the ballet will be in high definition and even colour! I doubt he envisaged Big Brother…

It’s actually one of my favorite books, full of genuine enthusiasm for television, technology and a nice counter to The Tube as its ruthlessly UK focussed.
