I’ve read a lot of books on the invention of television, but this one is by far the best.

It’s a slightly US centric view, but does cover all the major contributions by the BBC and EMI as well Fernseh and others. But unlike the majority of television history’s it gives a real sense of the people involved and the reality that no invention comes into existence without hard work and sacrifice.
